4/21/2007: Submissions for week of April 15-21
Entries added this week again focus on attempts early in the occupation to impose neoliberal structural reforms on Iraq’s economy, despite resistance from Iraq’s ministers. Other entries focus on US and British efforts to influence the country’s oil development policy. There’s also one really interesting entry on an op-ed piece written by a former US energy official arguing that Iraq is fully capable of developing its industry without assistance from foreign companies. The US and British on the other hand have insisted that Iraq’s oil industry can only be resurrected with private sector expertise.
